The Second thing to consider is how many photos you would like to use. If you have a large or extended family you would like to feature, select a folded or tri-fold card that has multiple pictures. Some of our designs feature up to 13 photos on just one card, making our site the right choice for larger families, or even small families that had a great professional photo shoot they would like to share with friends and family. This is a great time of year to catch family photos for your Personalized Christmas Photo Cards. The sun is out, everyone is happy, and gathered together for festivities. Have a friend take a basic shot or two (or three or four) of the entire family, and then have fun catching those beloved candid moments of kids laughing and playing, grandma and grandpa taking it easy, and even the family dog catching a frisbee. Challenge yourself to use new angles and points of view with your camera. And if you have a DSLR Camera (we are partial to Nikon), read up about the Manual setting and your F-stop (Aperature) and shutter speed, which will better allow you to get those creamy backgrounds and correct exposure. These are the type of images that extended family and friends love to see during the Holiday on your customized Christmas photo cards.
Here’s the trick, though, and maybe the hardest part: Keep these photos to yourself until your Christmas Greeting Cards are sent out. Facebook has given us this new style of itch to share pictures as soon as we are in possession of them. Resist the urge! Designate these pictures to family scrapbooks and the Holidays only. You won’t regret the exercise in self-control.
Our last tip when taking pictures today: Choose your favorite 2 or 3 Christmas Cards from our site to get ideas on the type of pictures you need to be able to use your chosen card to the fullest. For instance, don’t only take vertical pictures if your holiday card has horizontal images. Also be aware of required “negative space” when a photo, text, or graphic overlays another image.

It really is amazing how much power Google has over all us internet companies. On one hand, we really owe our success to them, but then they can also devastate us with one small (ok, large in this case) algorithm change. Maybe we’re being over dramatic here, but with over 200 graduation photo cards on our site, a few articles, and graduation categories, you would think that we would be a relevant result of a search for “graduation photo cards.”
We’re not sure what they’ve done to the way their search engines work now, but if you type “Christmas Photo Cards” in the web images tab, you get 1/100 images that are actual Christmas Photo Cards. Five months ago, that ratio would have been more like 75/100. So, I guess we’re confused, Google. Help us out and give us some clues about your new system.
